The region

Komárno region is situated on the left bank of the river Danube at the Eastern part of Žitný island, next to Malý Dunaj, Nitra and Žitava. It is not only the most Southern, but also the lowest situated village in the Slovak Republic. Flat lowlands are liven up by the numerous acacia woods rich in nectar, willowy and poplar vegetation next to the rivers and mediocre sandy hills in the North-East part of the region.
