The ship open-air museum

The ship open-air museum has been managed by Zoltán foundation which was founded in the year 2004 by the owners of the company Európa and the local government of the village Neszmély. The aim of this foundation is the preservation, the research of the historical landmarks and historical monuments and the cultural values of Hungarian river and nautical shipping and its presentation to the public. At the moment, there are eight historical ships owned by the foundation, five of which are exposed in the village Neszmély and two of which are exposed in Budapest. The oldest ship was built in the year 1869.
